Directly after the cessation of the Second World War the society began to feel that the world’s core ethical foundations are clear and coherent . Both world politics and social relations were counting on the thoughts of development, good innovations , faith in science , awareness , progress , and the potential to reason any activity from a rational viewpoint . Nevertheless , starting from the second half of the 60’s, the world commenced to degrade and now , 40 years later , we dwell in a changed kind of existence .
We effortlessly notice all changes which are brought to us by new technology, but we barely comprehend the fact that there are specific concepts standing behind those solutions . The essence of the expected change was first tracked by those people, who more often than not lived anteceding their time – philosophers and authors. Among the many authors whose masterpieces have served for entertainment , there have been a few who have given the planet a new picture of the future . They have more effectively than others other people molded and formulated fresh ideas and have finally done a fresh intellectual and perceptual substantiation of the future. They have found issues in the mundane of our lives and have opened a number of problems, which were going on without being spotted . They have helped us to become aware of the new challenges , and have given us new aspirations .
These were the authors who have formed the vision of the entire generation, which has taken the blow of cardial change; change, which was seen as mayhem at the dawn of the 21 first century. They have attracted our attention to the most problematic questions of the last century; those issues , which the people , having survived through the world wars and wild number of deaths, was afraid to face . Lastly they were raising the most important issue “How will we live in the world of future?”
In this work we will mention some of the most prominent authors of the 20th century. They have all significantly affected literature of their epoch, have showed tendencies and problems which were relevant to their people and the period of time they were living in, and have made the readers analyze the actual system of values, having them realize that it is far away from being perfect. One of the most important feature of their work is that in mostly they have awake the people attention in books and written works. In this aspect one of the most interesting success stories is that of a well known writer Lewis Carroll .
The success of Joan Rowling can be considered phenomenal as she has found herself to be the first writer in the world to make $1 billion by authoring fairytales. She is currently spending a huge part of her profit on charity, confronting poverty and illness. The idea of the book was invented while she was on the train from Manchester to London. When the publisher has first decided to publish her book, she has given her 1500 pounds together with a kind piece of advice — to look for a permanent job. He was doubtful of the fact that the young author would be able to make money of writing. Joann has proved the opposite - having written a number of amazing fairytales, she has made the so-called non-reading generation get back to reading.
This article is not able to name and more or less precisely list all writers who have made their contribution to the nowadays literature. They have been writing and bringing ideas exactly into the thoughts of the people, and thus were shaping the future. Thus, as we can see, these authors were not writing for enjoyment only, but they were also playing a considerable part in shaping the culture and the perception of a civilization of the 20th century.
